Established in 1975, the orphanage houses over 65 elephants, including babies born through its captive breeding program. Visit during feeding times (9:30-10:00 AM and 1:30-2:00 PM) or bathing times (10:00-10:30 AM and 2:00-2:30 PM) for an unforgettable experience.
Kandy Temple of the Tooth
Next, visit the Dalada Maligawa, or Temple of the Tooth, in Kandy. This Buddhist temple, housing Buddha’s tooth relic, is a must-see. Remember to dress modestly, covering shoulders and legs. Explore the temple’s museum, audience hall, and the World Buddhism Museum. The temple is open daily from 5:30 AM to 8:00 PM.
Royal Botanical Garden
